Week5 in Room 7, we began working on writing an information report! We started with our “Burger Writing” structure: topic, introduction, paragraphs, and conclusion, which helps us create an organised and engaging piece of writing.
Another exciting activity we did was ‘treasure hunting’ for language features, such as descriptive words, present tense, special names, and third-person perspective. We highlighted these features in different coulors, and our text has transformed into a vibrant, colourful display!
The students responded very well to these activities. The “Burger Writing” structure provided a clear and enjoyable way for them to organise their thoughts. It was gratifying to see them apply this method effectively in their writing.
The ‘treasure hunting’ activity was also a hit. By identifying and highlighting language features, students not only became more aware of these elements but also seemed to enjoy the process of making their writing visually appealing. This colourful approach made the learning experience more interactive and fun.
Overall, both activities were successful, and we will continue to build on them next week. The enthusiasm and engagement from the students have been fantastic, and I look forward to seeing even more improvement in their writing skills.
